Green designs win Cooper-Hewitt awards

Cooper-Hewitt’s famous design awards now include a “people’s choice” category, and a number of this year’s nominees are eco-friendly, Treehugger reports today. There’s the Katrina Cottage, which manages to pack a lot of comfort and style into a compact temporary shelter; Honda’s Insight hybrid car; and the Napali Kayak, which folds up small enough to fit in your backpack (Treehugger finds the PVC material objectionable, though).
